Errand Helper Position Description

Volunteer Reports to: Kyleigh Cramer (Executive Director)

Purpose: As an Errand Helper, you play a vital role in helping our elderly clients achieve independence. The Errand Helper serves as an important connection between clients and day-to-day necessities. In addition, you support the Volunteer Service Bank’s mission of assisting the elderly with volunteer help.

Summary: This position requires transportation to and from a grocery store to pick up preordered groceries or assist with grocery shopping. In addition to payment duties, volunteers must provide a receipt to Kyleigh and the client after every transaction.

Qualifications:

  • Professional appearance and friendly manner
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Courteous and personable when dealing with clients
  • Patient

Responsibilities:

  • Must provide own transportation
  • Must respect and maintain confidentiality of the Volunteer Service Bank’s clients

Training and Supervision:

  • Attend a brief volunteer orientation
  • Kyleigh Cramer will be available for questions and assistance at (605)692-6102
  • Training and supervision conducted by: Kyleigh Cramer

Evaluation:

  • Completed as necessary

Timeframe:

  • Whenever necessary

Medical Transportation Position

Volunteer Reports to: Kyleigh Cramer (Executive Director)

Purpose: As a Medical Transportation driver, you play a vital role in helping our elderly clients attend their medical appointments. The Medical Transportation driver serves as an important connection between the client and important medical appointments. In addition, you support the Volunteer Service Bank’s mission of assisting the elderly with volunteer help.

Summary: This position requires transportation to and from the client’s medical appointment. Any out of town appointment will be reimbursed for $0.40 per mile.

Snow Remover Position

Purpose: As a Snow Remover, you play a vital role in helping our elderly clients with snow removal. The Snow Remover serves as an important connection between clients and day-to-day necessities. In addition, you support the Volunteer Service Bank’s mission of assisting the elderly with volunteer help.

Summary: This position requires transportation to the client’s home. The client should have a shovel for you, but you are welcomed to bring your own.
